Voice commands

These are phrases HoopReads is tested against. Next to each one is the stat it records.

HoopReads is a voice-first basketball stat tracker that lets teams record live game statistics by speaking instead of using a paper scorebook or tapping through an app.

Track a Game

Each example on this page comes from the HoopReads test set: phrases paired with the stats they should record, which the app’s automated tests check. This page is built from that set, so when it changes, the page changes with it. It lists 63 of them now. You don’t need to say them word for word. Talk the way you would to the bench: a name or jersey number, then what happened. The voice stat tracker page walks through how a call turns into stats.

These examples use one sample roster: Tyler #1, Carter #3, Marcus #5, Devin #10, Isaiah #12, James #23, Andre #34. The other team is Central. A line marked “needs a pick” means the app could not tell who did it. You pick the player or the split in the feed. Until you do, it doesn’t count.
